HI! My nickname is RosiePosie, yes I know it provokes chuckles and thoughts of little girls playing in flower beds! I cannot remember how many times my sisters and I got gently scolded for doing just that. For pinching posies for an imaginary dollhouse, which was really just a shady spot in a humid Southwest Missouri back yard. Please check out my crafts for sale at http://www.ebay.com/usr/rosemwa and https://www.etsy.com/shop/poofiepinkpalace?ref=si_shop there are some slideshows of my work on YT at https://www.youtube.com/user/fuschia73/feed?view_as=public Thank you so much and enjoy my blogs! I will keep posting as often as I can. the rest of my post follows the pictures down below.
It was a different time and smaller gentler world for us, back in the 50s and 60s, when kids were kids, we learned to make something out of little or nothing, and our minds were not overwhelmed by technology or a war we knew little about. Don't get me wrong, I love being techy more than most nowadays. I loved our home, my dolls and family values, Sunday Dinners with grandparents and crickets singing us to sleep at night! We loved the challenge of finding things to do while a raging tornado flew overhead as we crouched in the basement or a neighbors root cellar. We got scared, but deep down we believed that the Lord would protect us, I could see it in my mother's eyes that she was praying. I could see my father was more concerned about our safety than his own! My brother and I would rush outside as it left so we could see the funnel moving across the land or dissipating like magic from an angry sky. We moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1980 just after Mt, St. Helen's blew, we saw ash everywhere as we drove here and I thought how fragile life is and that disaster can be a heartbeat away . I am so grateful to know my Savior and that He sustains and rewards the faithful. I hope you enjoy the pics of my handmade crafts and bouquets of flowers that my girls, who are women now, gave me . My girls bring flowers, my son takes me to dinner periodically and life is still good in spite of challenges of aging and disabilities, I am forever expressing my love for God, for family and for FLOWERS and beautiful PAPERS in my scrapbook kits and artwork included in them. If you buy from me you are getting a piece of my heart, my history of growing up in The Ozarks and of home as I perceive it. My shop is not full like some, but it is full of love and devotion to the craft that keeps me going on my good days!
As parents we give our whole lives and love to our precious families and it feels too much sometimes like a battery losing energy but the day comes when they give back to you and the memories of raising them are priceless, and we get to live our dream of being creative and sharing it with the world. So don't give up, just give in, dig deeper and pinch some posies along the way. The time will surely come when it is your day! By the way, I went out in biting weather and sure enough little green crocus shoots are bursting out of the Earth, thru dry leaves and bits of snow! So you see as long as life and limb exists Sweet Sweet SPRING and new life is always ON THE WAY!
I would love to hear from you! Please comment below! and remember artists like me don't get paid for their time, just the materials to keep working whenever possible.
